Brynne Edelsten says she wasn’t shocked people labelled her a ‘gold digger’ after her marriage to Geoffrey Edelsten.
In an interview with The Morning Show on Thursday, the 33 year-old socialite who was married to the Melbourne businessman between 2009 and 2014, said that the 40-year age difference between the couple “obviously” left her open to scrutiny.
“Obviously when you see someone – I was 25 and Geoff was 65 at the time – obviously you’re gonna think ‘gold digger’ – who’s not gonna think that?”
But a very trim-looking Brynne appeared live in studio to talk about what she had been up to and insist she married for the right reasons.
“I just loved him,” she continues. “But he wasn’t the right person for me and it didn’t work out, but I don’t regret marrying him.
“But, I don’t know, I outlasted the other two wives. I’ve never actually met someone who has the nerve to call me a gold digger to me face.
“People might write it in comments but nobody’s actually approached me or said anything like that.”
Brynne, who was Geoff’s second wife, before his provocative union to Gabi Grecko, said she is unsure if she will go back to her maiden name of Gordon.
“I don’t know. People ask me that and it’s like, I’ll just answer to anything,” she added.
“The other day somebody yelled at ‘Brian’ on the street and I turned around… they weren’t even talking to me.”
