Burt Jenner has criticised Jamie Foxx for making a joke in poor taste about his father Bruce Jenner’s reported gender transition at the iHeart Radio Music Awards in LA.
Bruce’s rarely-seen son called out Jamie for being a wannabe-comedian: “I think he is just copying Kevin Hart because Kevin Hart is taking all of his movie opportunities.”
Kevin Hart is a hugely popular comedian in the US, currently starring alongside Will Ferrell in the movie Get Hard, but he also recently mentioned Bruce Jenner’s transitioning in the infamous comedy roast of Justin Bieber.
Burt continued about Jamie Foxx: “He is copying him. Man’s on a roll, you know? And Jamie Foxx is on the way down, so he’s gotta keep his mojo going. He’s gotta copy what’s working.”
Jamie Foxx presented an award at the music awards in LA and as he introduced various acts, he said; “We got Bruce Jenner, who will be here doing some musical performances. He’s doing a his-and-her duet all by himself…”
“Look. I’m just busting your balls while I still can.”
Bruce, 65, is believed to be on the cusp of publicly revealing that he is undergoing a gender transition.
The former Kardashian patriarch apparently revealed all to his daughters and step-daughters in a conversation caught on camera recently, with a set insider telling the New York Post that the chat will air during episode 13 of the current season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“It wasn’t a jaw-dropping conversation,” the insider told the New York Post.
“He literally started the conversation with, ‘Hey guys, I’m becoming a woman,'” said an insider. “‘But I’m sure you probably already figured that out.’”
Bruce’s mother Esther Jenner, also recently came out and confirmed the transition. Now Radar reports that Bruce wants to go one step further, leaving his life as a male behind in order to become his “true self” with plans to undergo a sex change operation later this year.
The process of transitioning gender is of course not a decision that is taken lightly and can be extremely psychologically draining. Making jokes at the expense of someone during the emotionally-fraught time, is therefore of course, highly insensitive.
To make matters worse, Bruce’s daughter Kylie Jenner was also expected to be in attendance at the awards, which upset Burt further.
“[He made jokes] in front of my sister. He got a little lucky, because you can make jokes about my dad all you want, but you can’t make jokes in front of my sister and make my sister feel awkward,” Burt said.
“I would’ve charged the stage.”
The Kardashian and Jenner girls have made it clear that they support their dad no matter what.
“Of course we support Bruce 100 percent,” Kim Kardashian told Entertainment Tonight not long after, the sisters all shared a supportive snap of themselves posing with their dad (above).
We hope that Bruce is getting through this stressful time with all the support he needs!
