Jackson Warne didn’t follow in his dad Shane Warne’s cricketing footsteps, but they did share a passion for poker.
Now, the 23-year-old is playing in the World Series of Poker in Los Angeles, and while the milestone is exciting it’s made bittersweet since his dad was meant to be there with him.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Jackson’s eldest sister Brooke Warne stepped up to support her younger brother via a throwback of her with Shane and Jackson.
The family is currently in the US supporting Jackson.

“Dad and Jacko were supposed to be there playing side-by-side. I couldn’t be prouder of Jackson to be playing today,” she gushed.
“You are going to do Dad and all of us proud. I know Dad will be with you in spirit all the way. Good luck Jackson!! WE LOVE YOU!,” she concluded.

During a tribute dedicated to his dad, Jackson wrote about how he will miss sharing sports with Shane.
The father and son duo were famously close and were often likened to each other for sharing many interests and the same mop of blonde hair.
“To my brother, my best friend, to my Dad, I love you so much. I don’t think anything is ever going to fill the void you have left in my heart,” he shared in his post dedicated to Shane.
“I know all you ever wanted for me is to be happy, no matter what.”

“So, that’s what I’m going to do, try and be happy. Every day you told me how proud you were of me and I promise to try and keep making you proud. I am going to miss you so much Dad, I wish I could look you in the eyes 1 more time and give you one more hug,” he wrote.
“You were truly the best father and bestmate anyone could’ve asked for. I love you so much Dad, see you soon.”
