Brooke Boney has made a surprise return to radio, and the reason why will surprise you.
The 35-year-old recently stepped up her television duties on the Today Show after being promoted to newsreader last month, and now it has been revealed that she will be co-hosting KIIS FM’s national drive show Will & Woody alongside Will McMahon whilst his counterpart Woody appears in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
For the next few weeks, the show will be renamed Will & Brooke Boney.
The last time Brooke was on radio was in 2018, where she worked as a newsreader for the Triple J breakfast program with Ben and Liam. As a proud Gamilaroi woman, Brooke became well known for weaving elements of her culture into the broadcast by starting all of her news bulletins with ”Yaama”, which translates to ”Hello.”
Announcing the news live on air the Friday before the news season of I’m A Celeb premiered, Brooke jumped on the airwaves to reveal her excitement to listeners.
”Will and I will take great pleasure in laughing at [Woody] in the jungle from the comfort of our plush radio studios,” she said.
”I don’t have half the amount of food intolerances as Woody, so the show’s snack game will definitely improve.”
In an official statement released by the KISS FM network, they said that the limited-edition show ”promises to bring the same high energy and vibrancy that the boys are known for, full of banter, gossip, daily news and celebrity interviews.”
In the same statement, Brooke wrote that she was looking forward to bringing a ”degree of maturity” into the show.
Of his new partner in crime, Will said he was keen to co-host the show with Brooke.
”I have always been such a huge fan of Brooke and it will be an honour sharing a desk with her. She is a very talented broadcaster and I know the Will & Woody family will welcome her with open arms.”
