Slated for a late October 2023 release, Spears’ The Woman in Me is set to reveal “for the first time the incredible journey – and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in music history.”

“Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’ groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last,” reads her official press statement.

The Oops!… I Did it Again star’s announcement comes just over two years since she delivered her first public statement in court as part of the case to terminate her 13 year conservatorship.

Spears’ conservatorship was terminated in November 2021 following a lengthy back and forth between Spears and her father Jamie’s legal teams. In her June 2021 statement, Spears accused her father, family, and management of abuse; detailing instances that involved unwilling prescription of high-strength mood stabilisers and lack of agency over her reproductive health.

“My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship and my management who played a huge role in punishing me when I said no … they should be in jail,” Spears said in her statement.

Spears’ plight was also the centre of the viral #FreeBritney movement which rallied support for the singer across the globe, with the movement gathering momentum following the release of Netflix’s Britney vs Spears expose.

Speaking on her conservatorship battle, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher Jennifer Bergstrom told People, “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”

Britney Spears’ The Woman in Me is slated for release on October 24th, 2023. The highly anticipated memoir is now available to pre-order. Click here for more information.
