Brad Pitt has lead the crowd in a very funny singalong to teach them how to pronounce his friend David Oyelowo’s name.

The 51-year-old actor may not have been an honouree himself, but Brad Pitt certainly stole the spotlight at the Palm Springs Film Festival.

Brad was at the annual black-tie gala to introduce his friend and actor David Oyelowo, an honouree at the whose profile is only now on the rise.

David portrays civil-rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in the film Selma which is produced by Brad. The festival honoured David with its Breakthrough Performance Award for an actor.

The proud producer paid tribute to his friend’s hard work and talent.

“Tonight we celebrate an actor brave enough to step into the shoes of Martin Luther King,” he said.

“And I know that there is one lingering question in the back of your minds and that question is, how the hell do you pronounce his name?

“It’s ok, it’s alright, I’ve been there – and I’m here to help,”

Brad then led the audience in a rousing sing-a-long to teach them the correct pronunciation – “O-yellow-oh”.
