An investigation into claims of child abuse allegedly perpetrated by actor Brad Pitt against his children has reportedly been extended.
According to reports, the investigation will now include the whole family, not just the altercation that is said to have taken place on a plane that caused Angelina Jolie to file for divorce.
New accusations have come to light claiming that Brad has been verbally abusive and harmful to Ange and children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne on several occasions.
InTouch magazine reports that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has decided to extend their investigations to determine whether there was a regular pattern of abuse in the Jolie-Pitt household.
The investigation had been due to wrap up by the end of October, but these new allegations will mean it could stay open for some time yet.
“DCFS is interviewing many people to determine if they are witnesses to any improper behaviour by Brad as well as searching for others who have knowledge of his actions,” a source explained. “That includes nannies, household staff members and more.”
“The fact that the investigation was extended is an indication of how serious this is,” a second insider confessed to the publication.
Because of the ongoing nature of the investigation, the temporary custody order that was due to end on October 20 will remain in place indefinitely.
The order sees the kids residing with Ange, and only having short visits from Brad in the company of a registered therapist.

Meanwhile, what went on in Angelina’s interview with the FBI following the alleged plane incident has finally surfaced.
The Maleficent actress was reportedly interviewed by investigators for more than four hours over the apparent fight mid-flight between Brad and Maddox.
“The agents wanted a breakdown of everything that happened from when the plane took off to when it landed,” says an insider. “They’re looking into charges of assault.”
According to all reports, Ange “fully co-operated” with their lines of questioning and was determined to ensure officers had all the information they needed.
Brad has so far neglected to respond to Angelina’s divorce filings, because he doesn’t want to pull the trigger on a bitter court battle just yet.
“Neither side wants this to go to court because everything the FBI and DCFS investigated will potentially be made available to the public,” an insider told Us Weekly.
“It would be bad for the entire family.”
