Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling stepped out for the premiere of their new film The Big Short and the world was waiting with bated breath for these two to stand side-by-side but it wasn’t exactly the blaze of glory everyone was expecting.
All the elements were there, well-tailored suits, floppy hair and those piercing blue eyes, but there was something missing that the internet just couldn’t quite put their finger on.
One twitter user referred to the Hollywood A-listers as “regional sales managers” while other news sites weren’t so nice.
Yep… not feeling anything!
USA Today were quick to point out the boys’ formally-luscious locks being the reason for the anti-climatic photo opp.
“It’s so ’90s and piece-y and oddly coloured and we just can’t. Oh, and Ryan’s wearing waaaaaaaay too much makeup,” they wrote under the headline “Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling looking un-hot.”
To be fair, it did look like Mr Gosling was a little too liberal with the guy-liner.
Thank God for Steve Carrell.
Fear not though, because there was one surprise cast member who raised the level of hotness at the premiere, funny man Steve Carrell.
The 53-year-old’s plaid suit, maroon tie and circular framed glasses with a touch of stubble turned out to be a winning combination.
Thanks for reminding us why we love Hollywood Steve, we were worried there for a minute.
