“Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time,” Bobby, said in a heartbreaking statement released by his lawyer.
It continued: “My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honour her memory. Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”
Bobbi Kristina was just 22-years-old, when she passed away in Atlanta on Sunday evening.
The news came nearly six months after the only daughter of celebrated musician, Whitney Houston, was found by her boyfriend Nick Gordon unresponsive in a bathtub at her home on January 31.
Following her near-drowning, Bobbi never fully regained consciousness and was being kept on life support. In March, the 22-year-old was moved from hospital to a long-term care facility in Atlanta, and in June she transferred to hospice care.
In a heartfelt statement, her family revealed: “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now,” her aunt Pat Houston added.
Sources revealed to People that Bobby was the one who contacted loved ones to share the tragic news.
“He is holding it together more than you’d expect,” the family insider admitted to People.
“He knew it was coming. Of course he’s very emotional, but at the same time, he knows that Krissy is in a better place now.”
“He is taking comfort in the fact that she’s with her mother and that there will be no more sadness or pain. She is at peace. He knows that and is taking comfort in that,” they added.
The Roswell Police Department announced they are continuing their investigation into Bobbi’s death.
The police have advised due to the amount of time that has passed since she was found unresponsive, it will likely “complicate” efforts to reconstruct events.
“Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging,” the medical examiner’s office said in a statement. “However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death.”
So far, the first autopsy carried out 24-hours after her passing was inconclusive.
In an official statement released from Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, it explained: “The initial portion of the autopsy has been completed. The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted. No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified.”
The circumstances of Bobbi’s accident are eerily similar to that of her mother, Whitney Houston, who passed away in February 2012 after being found unresponsive in the tub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The legendary singer was just 48 at the time of her death and a toxicology report soon revealed the music icon’s passing was caused by drowning, heart disease and cocaine.
Speaking after her mother’s passing, a stoic Bobbi told Oprah: “I’ve got to keep going. My family [are keeping me going] and The Lord and her [Whitney]… hearing her all the time. Her spirit is strong.”
