The late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found unconscious in her bathtub by her husband Nick Gordon at their home on Saturday and was rushed to hospital.
Her father, and ex-husband of Whitney Houston, spoke out about this tragic event for the first time releasing a statement about his daughter.
“Privacy is requested in this matter,” he said. “Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
Bobby Brown’s legal counsel, Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, provided an update about Bobbi Kristina’s condition.
“The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, is accurate. No additional information will be forthcoming.”
According to TMZ, her situation is “significantly diminished”, also revealing that the police reports reference the incident as a “drowning”.
The family of Whitney Houston have also released a statement saying;
“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time.”
It draws tragic parallels to her late mother’s death. Whitney Houston passed away almost three years ago after she was found unconscious in the bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel room.
Police are investigating the current incident, but at this point no illegal substances have been found.
Lisa Holland of the Roswell Police Department confirmed release this statement to US Weekly:
“I can’t comment on her condition because of medical privacy laws. I know she is alive and the only thing they would notify me of is if her condition changed.”
Bobbi Kristina’s cousin Jerod Brown, who goes by the name YF Kennedy, told E! News exclusively she “doesn’t do drugs and has not been drinking alcohol.”
“It’s a rough time lately with the anniversary. So this is a blow to the family,” he said.
Bobbi Kristina has been vocal about having a tough time dealing with the anniversary of her mother’s death, taking to Twitter posting a series of tweets.
