On Monday, the grieving father spoke through his legal team about who he believes is responsible for the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
“In regards to the civil litigation, we believe we know who harmed Bobbi Kristina Brown and his name is Nick Gordon,” Bobby’s lawyer, Christopher Brown, said in a statement to People.
“Mr Gordon made headlines when he filed his Motion to dismiss the lawsuit pending in Superior Court that seeks to hold him responsible for 40 million dollars in damages,” the statement continued.
“However, the Motion was frivolous and instead of having it heard by the Court, he has chosen to withdraw the Motion, ending that matter so that he could avoid having to give his deposition which was scheduled for the day he withdrew the Motion. Mr Gordon will now have to give his deposition under oath.”
Bobbi Kristina was just 22 years old when she passed away on July 26.
“She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months,” the Houston family said in a statement at the time.
Six months ago on January 31, Whitney Houston’s only living heir was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home.
The Fulton County Superior Court received the autopsy results on Friday, but they have forbidden them from being released to the public.
“No further information will be available from the Medical Examiner at this time,” the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office told Entertainment Tonight in a statement.
According to reports, the information has been made confidential so authorities can investigate the findings of the autopsy.
A source close to legal team have admitted to the entertainment site that the “DA’s office is conducting an ongoing investigation into Nick Gordon.”
Bobby Brown supports this decision. “I look forward to having the Court hear the evidence in the civil lawsuit and hopefully the criminal action very soon,” the 46-year-old said via his lawyer.
In July Nick was served a $USD10 million lawsuit, which accused him of stealing money and abusing Bobbi.
The lawsuit alleged that before the aspiring singer was found unconscious in a bathtub, Nick physically abused her, kept a very close watch on her personal life and stole thousands of dollars from her.
While no criminal charges have been filed against Nick at this point, his lawyers have released a statement on their client’s behalf, describing all claims made against Bobbi’s partner as “slanderous and meritless.”
“Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it’s shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly,” the statement said.
“Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most.”
As Bobby awaits to hear the truth behind his daughter’s death, earlier this month the protective father revealed he is the process of creating the Bobbi Kristina’s Serenity House.
“Established as a safe haven, emergency center and advocacy resource center for women affected by domestic violence,” he explained.
“It’s a place that I’m building that I feel is needed,” he added.
“Because if I could have been there two days before anything happened to my daughter, it wouldn’t have went down like that.”
