Hundreds have flocked to a public candlelit vigil for Bobbi Kristina Brown in Atlanta, Georgia, where the 21-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital on life-support.
The “Shining a Light for Healing” vigil was held in the town centre of Riverdale where hundreds of supporters turned out to pray, some shining torches where the cold Georgia wind was too harsh to keep the candles lit.
Bishop Donald Battle conducted the event as the featuring gospel songs, prayers, bible readings, and a call for healing.
“It ain’t over til God says it’s over,” Gwen Battle told the crowd.
Bobbi Kristina’s friends and family invited the public to the vigil, with Bobbi’s cousin Jerod Brown posting a flyer to Facebook advertising the event.
Family members of Bobbi have been maintaining a close vigil by the bedside of the 21-year-old as they prepare for the worst.
“Everyone is coming to the hospital to say goodbye,” a family member reportedly told People magazine.
Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, was photographed visiting her granddaughter at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital.
Bobbi Kristina remains there in a critical condition after being found unconscious and submerged in water in her bathtub at her Georgia home, just one week shy of the three year anniversary of her mother’s death.
It’s believed that Bobbi’s life may now lie in the hands of her family, as she is in such a critical condition that her family had been handed the ultimate heartbreaking decision of when to let go.
“It’s now a matter of when the family wants to let go and accept that she’s pretty much not going to make it,” a source told FOX News.
“They’ve left it up to the family as to how long they want to keep her alive.”
Her father Bobby Brown has also been seen at the hospital and is reportedly remaining hopeful and rallying others to stay positive as he refuses to contemplate the worst-case scenario. Bobby earlier released a statement regarding his daughter’s condition after she was rushed to hospital, requesting privacy for the family.
“Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time.”
