The late 22-year-old’s funeral was held at the St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Atlanta on Saturday.
The invitation-only ceremony saw the likes of grandmother Cissy Houston, Bobbi’s father Bobby Brown his wife Alicia and media mogul Tyler Perry in attendance.
Guest arrived in limousines with police escorts while Bobbi Kristina, who had been fighting for her life since being found unconscious in a bathtub in January, arrived in a silver casket.
However Whitney Houston’s only daughter’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, was forbidden from attending the funeral after he was served with a $USD10 million lawsuit, which accuses him of stealing money and abusing Bobbi.
Despite the tragic circumstances, the Brown and Houston families were unable to put their long-running feud aside and came to blows in spectacular fashion in the middle of the funeral.
Bobby Brown’s sister Leolah was ejected from the ceremony by Tyler Perry after she interrupted Pat Houston’s eulogy.
“Whitney Houston will haunt Pat Houston from the grave,” Leolah fumed at Pat, who is the sister-in-law of the late Whitney Houston and was assigned to be the co-legal guardian of Bobbi along with Bobby Brown following Whitney’s death in 2012.
Outside the congregations Leloah continued her tirade and told reporters: “It’s not over. We’ve got evidence of who Pat really is, this is going to be a long drawn out process.”
Before adding: ‘Things are connected. Pat is a fraud and a phony. She is not a Houston, she’s a Garland.”
A devastated Bobby Brown wrote a loving message inside the program which said, “I also will always love you.”
Meanwhile it’s reported that Whitney’s cousin and fellow singer Dionne Warwick was “offended” by the Sweet 16 theme Pat had selected for the funeral and wasn’t pictured at the event.
In a beautiful touch, the final song of the day was Jesus Loves Me by Whitney Houston. Following the dramatic funeral, the Brown and Houston families held separate receptions.
