As Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family maintain a vigil by her bedside, new details have emerged about her relationship with husband Nick Gordon and the incident that has left her fighting for life.
Despite Bobbi Kristina and Nick announcing their marriage news on Twitter last January, her father Bobby Brown has released another statement via his lawyer stating that his daughter was never in fact married to Nick.
“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina,” Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC said.
“To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”
The statement comes three days after Bobbi Kristina was discovered unresponsive in her bathtub by Nick and a friend at their Georgia home.
Bobbi Kristina’s family have moved her from North Fulton hospital to nearby Emory Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
While earlier reports suggested that no drugs had been found at the premises, when police returned to conduct a further search, illicit substances were found.
“Bobbi Kristina will be the first person to say that she has used [drugs] in the past,” a Brown family member told PEOPLE.
But it seems she was trying to turn her life around in recent months with her dad trying to avoid that same problems that claimed her mother’s life three years ago.
“She swore up and down that she wasn’t using, and she seemed very adamant,” the relative said.
While there are many details of the incident that are still being investigated, Bobby Brown has once again requested privacy for his family.
“We continue to request privacy in this matter,” the statement continued.
“Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time.”
