After six long months of uncertainty, Bobbi Kristina Brown has passed away surrounded by family at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Atlanta on Sunday evening, US time.

According to a report from TMZ, Whitney Houston’s only child left the world at the same facility she has been at since June 24. In a heartfelt statement, her family revealed: “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now,” her aunt Pat Houston added. It’s been a devastating year for the 22-year-old’s nearest and dearest after she was found lifeless by her boyfriend Nick Gordon in a bathtub on January 31 in her Georgia home. The circumstances were eerily similar to that of her mother, Whitney Houston, who passed away in February 2012 after being found unresponsive in the tub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The legendary singer was just 48 at the time of her death and a toxicology report soon revealed the music icon’s passing was caused by drowning, heart disease and cocaine.

Speaking after her mother’s passing, a stoic Bobbi told Oprah: “I’ve got to keep going. My family [are keeping me going] and The Lord and her [Whitney]… hearing her all the time. Her spirit is strong.”

In May that year, while accepting an accolade on behalf of the Bodyguard star at the Billboard Millennium Award, Bobbi said: “I’m just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman’s life. There will never be another one. Ever.”

Following her mother’s passing, Bobbi Kristina struck up a relationship with close family friend Nick Gordon, who had lived with the Houstons for over a decade. Although the couple claimed to have secretly tied the knot, father Bobby Brown’s rep denied any nuptials had ever taken place. “[Bobbi Kristina] is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”

Sadly, just days before her death Nick was served with a $USD10 million lawsuit, which accuses him of stealing money and abusing Bobbi.
