Bindi Irwin has opened up about one of the most emotional moments of her life: speaking at the memorial of her father, Steve Irwin.
The 17-year-old opened up about it on Oprah: Where Are They Now? saying, “Before the event actually took place I came to mum and said, ‘I would like to do this for myself and for everyone else.”
Bindi was just eight when she spoke in front of over 5 000 people – as well as millions on television.
“I just personally wanted to say to the world, to anyone watching, anyone who wanted to hear it, that we would be carrying on. And that’s what we’ve chosen to do,” she says.
“We dwell on the happiness in life and just try to remind ourselves of dad in every way possible. I think in a way you can still feel him at the zoo.”
