Terri Irwin hit her milestone 60th birthday on July 20th. And she celebrated with a huge party at her favourite place – Australia Zoo!
Terri’s son Robert, who was just spotted with a new ‘mystery woman’ in Sydney, dished on the “wild” night during a radio interview last week. He revealed that the family held the big soiree at Crocodile Hunter Lodge at the Queensland property.
“She had the biggest party, it was awesome,” Robert, 20, said. “We’ve got a big old event space for weddings and whatnot. And so, we took that over. We had a big barbecue. It was very wild – just as wild as you can imagine!”
The I’m A Celeb… host added of the “exciting” milestone, “Mum is just the absolute legend of legends so I’m very proud to celebrate with her.”
Terri posted a montage of beautiful clips from throughout her life, including many of her wildlife adventures with late husband Steve and special times with their kids, Bindi and Robert. “It’s been an incredible 60 years,” she wrote. “I can’t wait for the adventures to come!”
Bindi, of course, chimed in with some heartfelt tributes to her mum. On Instagram, the wildlife champion shared a video reel of special moments of Terri through the years. She captioned it: “Happy 60th Birthday to my best friend. Forever. ❤️ I love you with my entire heart.”
Mum was no doubt overcome with emotion, seeing the reel, commenting on Bindi’s sweet post: “I feel incredibly blessed to have so much love and adventure in my life. Terrific friends, a wonderful family, and surrounded by beautiful wildlife here @australiazoo. Thank you sweet Bindi for making today the best day ever. I love you always and forever.”
BIRTHDAY TWINS
What many don’t realise is Terri and Bindi are almost birthday twins! Mum, of course, was born on July 20th and Bindi only a short four days later on the 24th of July.
Robert posted a throwback video of little Bindi with their late father Steve going to meet him at the hospital for the first time – the day he was born – on his Instagram account: “Happy birthday, Bindi… love, Brian.”
To which Bindi replied, “Thank you, Brian. This is the best 😂💛.”
Now, you might be wondering where “Brian” comes into the picture. Well, in the video above, Bindi, holds Robert and sweetly says, “I’ll call him Brian.”
Terri was quick to chime in, writing: “More than anything, Steve loved being your dad!”
In her own post, Terri shared this beautiful tribute to Bindi, along with a carousel of throwback images: “Happy birthday beautiful Bindi. I have loved you from the moment you first came into our lives. You have brightened my every day with your ability to see the best in everyone and everything. Even in the most challenging times, you forge ahead with courage and optimism. You continue to be the best daughter, and now you are an amazing mama with a daughter of your own. Thank you for looking down from heaven and choosing our family 26 years ago. We were blessed with an angel. 💕”
With the outpouring of love from friends and fans around the world, Bindi once again shared a message on Instagram alongside a sweet picture of herself with her darling daughter Grace, husband Chandler, mum and brother Robert Irwin posing around a beautiful flower-petal adorned birthday cake at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, writing: “Bindi & Terri’s birthday week. 60 & 26 ✨ Thank you so much for the lovely birthday wishes. Hugs from our family.”
