Try as she might, Bindi Irwin failed to keep the exciting news she’s been trying to keep secret under wraps – even with the help of a strategically placed birthday cake!
“We see you hiding that bump!” commented one fan, after the TV star shared snaps of her and husband Chandler Powell celebrating his 26th birthday at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge at Australia Zoo in Queensland on November 14 with 20-month-old daughter Grace.
“Ooooooh is there another lil Irwin on the way?” questioned another.
Indeed, sources say the couple chose the special occasion – while Chandler’s US-based parents Chris and Shannan were in Oz – to break the happy news to their relatives that baby number two is on the way!
“They’re hoping to officially announce another baby is on the way any day now,” a source tells Woman’s Day.
“They also can’t wait to give Grace a sibling close in age. They really want a boy, given that both Bindi and Chandler grew up with a brother each and loved it.”
At home amid nature, Bindi, 24, is the epitome of an earth mother, and gushes that her husband has “kindness and sunshine” in his heart.
“Watching my husband become a dad has been extraordinary. Grace adores her Dadda, and I treasure every moment watching them laugh and play together. Chandler does a million things for us every day.
“I love that he takes Grace on daily dad-ventures and watches the sunrise with her almost every morning,” she shared on Instagram. Clucky, much?
“Grace is growing up so fast – she’s walking and talking heaps now – and Bindi’s sad the infant months are over, so she’s definitely keen to give her a sibling sooner rather than later,” our insider tells, adding that the wildlife warrior’s mum will be thrilled with a new addition to the family.
“Bindi’s already hinted to her mum that she might be a grandma for the second time and [her mum] Terri’s over the moon at the mere thought of it,” says the source, who notes that Terri’s a little worried about space at their place on zoo property, and hints that Bindi and Chandler could very well be set to move out in the new year to find a place of their own.
