On Father’s Day it’s always worth sparing a thought for those who have lost their beloved dads.
Bindi Irwin is one of those people, and her late father is obviously in her thoughts today, having posted a touching tribute to Steve on social media.
“You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe,” she wrote on Instagram.
Bindi was only eight when she lost her dad.
She regularly posts pictures and notes for Steve on social media, showing that he’s always in her thoughts.
The now 18-year-old has had a huge year, winning Dancing with the Stars and in turn became a household name in the US.
“For us, we really want to make sure that dad’s legacy and message continues. He always used to say, ‘I don’t care if people remember me, but I care if people remember my message and what I stood for,’” Bindi said after her win.
“That’s what we’ve dedicated our lives to doing and the three of us – dad first came up with the term ‘Wildlife Warrior’ and we are Wildlife Warriors.”
