With tears in her eyes Bindi Irwin paid a powerful tribute to her father last night on Dancing With The Stars U.S.
She and partner, Derek Hough, danced to “Every Breath You Take” by The Police as an homage to Bindi’s father Steve who died in 2006.
“It took a really long time to understand what actually happened,” Bindi said of her father’s death in the pre-recorded segment before they danced. “For the rest of my life, I’ll kind of feel like he’s going to come home.”
The duo scored a 28 out of 30 for the moving piece, which included the first perfect 10 for the season.
“He was dancing with you every step of the way,” Judge Bruno Tonioli told Bindi after her performance.
