Billy Bob Thornton may be on the press junket for his X-rated comedy, Bad Santa 2, but things took a serious turn when the topic of his former flame came up.
Entertainment Tonight asked the actor how Angelina Jolie was in light of her divorce from husband Brad Pitt.
“She seems, you know, OK to me when I talk to [her],” the 61-year-old star admitted.
“I don’t talk to her that often though. You know? We’re still very good friends, but she’s got her world. I’ve got mine.”
Billy was Angelina’s leading man during her wild days, with the pair getting hitched in Las Vegas back in 2000.
While the pair met onset of the comedy Pushing Tin, their relationship was filled with less giggles and more tattoos, crazy nights and the occasional blood vial.
Angie and Billy ended things just two years later in June, 2002.

Billy chatted about the current nature of their relationship, saying, “Once in a blue moon we come together.”
“Every now and then we talk, you know? Whatever. But when people go through trials and tribulations I try to leave them alone unless they want to talk to me. In other words, I figure it’s none of my business. Unless someone makes it my business, it’s none of my business.”
The Hollywood heavyweight recently admitted that despite being Angie’s former lover, he never felt worthy of her affections.
“I never felt good enough for her,” he mused to GQ.
“I’m real uncomfortable around rich and important people,” Billy revealed, adding, “I like how I am!”
The couple infamously got each other’s names tattooed on their arms.
While Angie replaced her Billy ink for the co-ordinates of the birthplaces of her children, the funnyman admitted he still has the Hollywood beauty’s name on his arm.
“See, it’s just resting there,” he said. “You can still see the name.”
Billy Bob isn’t the only star speaking out over Angie’s split with her dad, Jon Voight, voicing his thoughts on his daughter’s life.
Jon spoke to E! News at the premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, where he addressed his daughter and Brad Pitt’s custody battle.
“I appreciate everybody’s concern and their prayers,” he said. “Hopefully things will work out.”
The 41-year-old actress is focusing her efforts on her six children Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, as she navigates her divorce with estranged husband Brad Pitt.
Brad, 52, is slowly returning back to the spotlight.
The father-of-six stepped out onto his first red carpet since his separation news, for the premiere of his new film, Allied, in LA last week.
Happily posing for selfies with fans, Brad admitted he was blown away by the love and support he’s received since his divorce new broke.
“It’s really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here. It’s really nice to have all the support,” he told E! News.
Brad’s latest outing comes as he was officially cleared of child abuse allegations against his 15-year-old son Maddox.
Sources speaking to ET revealed there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a case. “It wasn’t clearly founded that there was any abuse by Pitt,” an insider told the publication.
Meanwhile, Marion, who is expecting her second child with longtime partner Giullaume Canet, couldn’t help but sing her co-star’s praises.
“[Brad is] such a good man,” the 41-year-old actress said.
“Of course he’s an amazing actor. He’s such a good person that it’s really not difficult to get along with him.”
