Ghostbusters veteran Bill Murray has revealed who he would like to star in the upcoming instalment of the franchise.
Although Murray, 63, is only rumoured to make a cameo in the film, he has suggested a few comedic candidates for the highly-anticipated Ghostbusters III.
“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray told the Toronto Star.
“And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny!
“I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny.
“There are some funny girls out there,” Murray added.
It been nearly 25 years since the last Ghostbusters offering and Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is reportedly in negotiations to direct the sequel.
So what roles will these lovely ladies take if they were cast in the sci-fi comedy? We take a stab in the (spooky) dark.
Although Murray, 63, is only rumoured to make a cameo in the film he has suggested a few comedic candidates for Ghostbusters III.
Perhaps Melissa McCarthy could play Ramona Stanz – a spin-off of the overly enthusiastic Ray Stantz originally played by Dan Aykroyd.
The hilarious Kristen Wiig is our pick for Winston Zeddemore.
Lisa Cardellini, who played the brainy character of Velma in Scooby-Doo, would make a brilliant super nerd of Egon.
And Emma Stone could be Bill Murray’s own successor and play Peter or… Peta Venkman.
