Bert (pictured) is still in good spirits.
(Image: Instagram)Bert has dealt with a myriad of serious illnesses in the past, including a several bouts of pneumonia and a stint in intensive care after undergoing quadruple heart bypass surgery.
He has suffered anaemia since he underwent a quadruple heart bypass surgery in 2012.
Speaking to the Herald Sun previously, Patti gave an emotional insight into her husbandโs ongoing road to recovery and admitted that โevery morning is a bonus.โ
โWhen he had his quadruple bypass, they said it was 50/50 chance,โ she told the publication. โ[Granddaughter] Lola had just been born and all of the rest of the years are bonuses, really.โ

Patti has been by Bertโs side during this latest scare.
(Image: Instagram)The grandfather-of-six went on to credit his partner of 46 years for nursing him back to health.
โI am on a leash, sort of. Patti takes extra special care of what I do and particularly what I donโt do.โ
โI had a bad run for a while health-wise, but now I am pretty good,โ he continued.
โSince [the surgery] I have had a couple of bouts of pneumonia. Every morning when I wake up, I read the death columns in the paper, and if I am not there we get up and away we go.โ
After four-and-a-half decades, two children and six grandchildren Patti recently told Now To Love she would be lost without her other half.
โWe lived and worked everything that was happening on television, weโve spent a lot of time together. If anything happens to either of us, whichever one it is will find it very difficult because weโve been in one anotherโs pockets for well over 50 years,โ Patti revealed at the start of November.
