Bert and Patti Newton might be one of Australia’s most adored showbiz couples but on Monday evening, the pair and their daughter Lauren were left star struck when they rubbed shoulders with Goldie Hawn in Melbourne.
Sharing the happy moment via Instagram an elated Patti penned: “Just had the most wonderful evening with Goldie Hawn at the Regent Theatre #goldiehawn.”

In the snap, which was taken backstage at the star’s one-night only show called A Night Of Laughs With Goldie at the Regent Theatre, Patti and her loved ones beam at the camera as they share a moment with the Hollywood legend.
That same evening, the 70-year-old appeared on The Project and revealed she never expected to live out her incredible career.
“I thought my life would look like a normal, what we call, a normal person,” she told the panel.
“I got married, I had children, I had a white picket fence, I had my own dancing school and I lived happily ever after.”
“That’s what I thought when I was 17 and 18, and 19. And then things suddenly changed.”
During her trip to Australia the accomplished actress, who has been in a relationship with Kurt Russell since the eighties, is also launching the MindUp program.
Teaming up with her beloved Hawn Foundation, Goldie hopes to teach the youth of Australia compassion, empathy and mindfulness.
“I created this program because our children were suffering and the world was upside-down,” the proud mother of Kate and Oliver Hudson said.
“By 9/11 is when I knew the world was going to change forever and with that came an anxiety about building great leadership.”
