British star Benedict Cumberbatch has reprised his role as the ‘Cumberbomb’ to photo-bomb Meryl Streep during the 2015 Golden Globes ceremony.
One of the highlights of yesterday’s Golden Globes ceremony was not all the red carpet gowns, but rather the epic photobombing skills ofThe Imitation Gameand Sherlock star Benedict, 38.
Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were doing a comic bit poking fun at hermit state North Korea and the country’s alleged involvement in the epic Sony hack that infamously embarrassed quite a few Hollywood stars.
Fellow comedian Margaret Cho was planted in the audience, posing as a North Korean hack requested a photo with Hollywood icon Meryl Streep.
That was meant to be the punchline in and of itself but of course it was ten times funnier when the Benedict decided to leap into the background of the photo.
Taking selfies at awards ceremonies has now become something of a tradition after Ellen DeGeneres’ infamous star-studded selfie at last year’s Oscars, but it seems that the ‘Cumberbomb’ has now become a bit of a ritual too!
Afterall, this is not the first time the recently engaged, dad-to-be has decided to leap into the background of another star-studded shot. He infamously crashed a photo of the band U2 at last year’s Academy Awards:
Watch it in animation here:
Benedict then recreated that moment on the UK’s Graham Norton show when he photobombed his own wax figure!
We can’t wait to see what kind of mischief he will get up to at this years Oscars!
