Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed he is going to be a dad!
The actor’s rep confirmed the delightful news that the pair will welcome their first child this year! in a statement
“I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon,” the statement said.
The pregnancy news comes on the cusp of their wedding announcement. We adored the traditional way the 38-year-old actor announced he and Sophie were headed down the aisle, via a paid-for announcement in The Times newspaper’s classified section.
“Mr B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter,” their announcement began under the heading “Forthcoming Marriages.” “The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.”
Following their old-fashioned announcement, the couple don’t plan to make a big fuss out of the wedding preferring “a very private” affair.
In the past Benedict has been vocal about fatherhood, saying “It is a wonderful thing to get married young and become a father.”
