And now the man himself is addressing her Vanity Fair cover story, telling the New York Times his former wife had his blessing to go ahead with the juicy tell-all.
The father-of-three also revealed Jen gave him prior warning that the story would be happening.
“She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with,” the 43-year-old explained to the publication.
Adding: “So she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it – I don’t want to do it again.’”
Last month the actress spoke to the glossy on everything from speculation their nanny Christine Ouzounian had a part to play in their split, to life as a single mother and Ben’s enormous back tattoo.
“We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny,” Jen said.
“She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes.”
Before poignantly adding: “I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision.”
“I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had.”

“Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in,” Ben vouched.
Meanwhile the Gone Girl actor was also quizzed by The New York Times on comedian Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes infamous gag back in January, where he introduced best friend Matt Damon “as the only person Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to.”
“It’s the way Ricky Gervais perceives me, I suppose. Whatever. I’ve had jokes made at my expense before. It’s part of the deal,” Ben nonchalantly responded.
