The lengthy interview will appear exclusively in The Australian Womenโ€™s Weekly, on sale Thursday April 23.

Belle, 23 who received no payment to tell her story to The Weekly, claimed to have been healing herself of terminal brain cancer solely through a wholefood diet and alternative therapies.

In a special investigation, The Weekly reveals the reality behind her cancer diagnosis, the current financial state of her business, The Whole Pantry โ€“ and her belief that she has been hard done by.

Belle tells The Weekly she decided to take part in the interview because it was the right thing to do.

โ€œI just think [speaking out] was the responsible thing to do. Above anything, I would like people to say, โ€˜Okay, sheโ€™s human.โ€™โ€

Belle first rose to fame on Instagram and developed a successful app called The Whole Pantry.

Her story has cast a spotlight on the alternative health industry and the unsubstantiated health claims made by some wellness advocates.

After news broke that doubts had arisen over the veracity of her story, Belle went to ground and deleted swathes of social media postings. Her Instagram account is set to private.

The Whole Pantry app, which had been chosen to feature on the new Apple Watch, was dropped by the US tech giant. Distribution of the cookbook version, which was already a bestseller, was halted by Penguin Australia.

More to come.
