The 29-year-old Footy Show star has revealed he will be playing the Genie in the upcoming production of Aladdin And His Wondrous Lamp at the State Theatre in Sydney.
The Wollongong local, who is married to Kara Orrell, shared the exciting news via Instagram with a cheeky shirtless snap in which he rocks a colourful headband and matching cuffs as he holds the infamous gold bottle.
‘I’m excited/anxious/proud to be playing the Genie in @bonnielythgoepantos Alladin!!! Look forward to entertaining you all and having some fun,’ he wrote alongside the image which showed off his buff biceps.
Before joking that he was a ‘Hugh Jackman wannabe’ who is ‘always up for a challenge.’
The theatre show will be managed by Bonnie Lythgoe Productions and boasts a star-studded Aussie line-up including Jessica Rowe, Prinnie Stevens, Jono Coleman, Lauren Brant and Ian “Dicko” Dickson.
For fans wanting to catch a glimpse of Beau in the bright lights the show runs from July 3 to July 12.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph about his gig, the father-of-one admitted he was a little nervous about the career change but was looking forward to grabbing it with both hands.
‘I think the footy field is going to seem like a walk in the park compared to this. I can’t wait,’ he said.
Since stepping down from the Cronulla Sharks last year, Beau has dabbled with music and released the track Where You From with the Justice Crew.
