Lauren Brant and Barry Hall have solidified themselves as one of Australia’s favourite power couples since falling in love on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here back in 2015.
So it came as no surprise when the mother-of-three took to social media to share sweet words of encouragement to her husband ahead of his boxing match against Sonny Bill Williams on Wednesday night.
Barry, whose last professional fight was against NRL star Paul Gallen in 2019, will go head-to-head with Sonny at Sydney’s ICC Exhibition Centre in a battle dubbed “Turf War”.
On Tuesday night, Lauren took to Instagram and praised her husband as “bloody incredible”.
“Gosh…I’ve been laying in bed, ahead of Barry’s fight tomorrow – not knowing what to write,” she wrote, adding that “no solider stands alone” in their family-of-five.
“Barry doesn’t like being made a fuss of, he also see’s no need for unnecessary ‘noise, stuff, mess.’ He just gets on with things… always respectfully & humbly. He is a kind & happy man and just ADORES his children. He is amazing.”
“But he is also bloody incredible. He is strong, powerful and does things other people wouldn’t do. Nothing is too hard for him and he never gives up. He is so inspiring to me, to so many people and has no idea!”
Lauren went on to say that as much as she tells Barry “how wonderful he is,” the father-of-three sees himself as just “another guy”.
“One thing he does know though – is we love him so freaking much. The boys and I are his biggest fans and will always show up and support him. What an adventure for our children to grow up with such a awesome Dad!!!” she finished her tribute.
Barry’s SAS Australia co-star Anna Heinrich sent her support, commenting: “👏👏👏 good luck xx”
Lauren’s praise of her AFL legend husband comes just days after she said Australia got to see Barry’s “humbled, non-egotistical, comforting and selfless” side during his SAS Australia stint.
The 45-year-old was one of the frontrunners, but was forced to medically withdraw after a brutal fight with Locky Gilbert left him with a gruesome rib injury.
“If anyone watched Barry on SAS – you would know for sure, why I am so madly in love with him. There is so much to say – but what came across really clearly to me, is that he IS the ultimate man,” she said following Barry’s voluntary withdrawal last week.
“No not the ‘alpha male, unemotional, physical, beast like’ stereotype that boys have been expected & pressurised to be in the past, but the ‘humbled, non-egotistical, comforting & selfless’ human that mothers can be proud of, wives can love & trust, children can feel safe and held with, and friends can feel vulnerable with.”
