President Barack Obama and his family have headed to Kailua, Hawaii for a well-earned break over the Christmas period.
On Christmas Eve, the American President treated his 18-year-old daughter Malia to an ice cream date at the Island Snow parlour.
The touching outing shows just how close the 55-year-old is with his oldest daughter.
At one point, the 44th President of the United States let Malia try some of his shaved ice cream before the pair shared a laugh.
Earlier on their holiday, Barack reportedly took Malia, younger daughter Sasha, 15, and some friends to adventure hotspot Breakout Waikiki.
The group were locked in a room and given 60 minutes to plan their escape by conquering a challenging set of puzzles and questions.
Hawaii isn’t just the birthplace of Barack, it’s also his favourite holiday destination and he takes his family their every year.
The First Family of America are currently counting down the days until they leave the White House as they prepare for Donald Trump to move in on January 20, 2017.
In September, Michelle spoke to InStyle about living a more low-key life once her husband leaves office.
“My hopes are that we recapture some everydayness, some anonymity. And we know that will take some time.”
“But I always joke that I dream of opening up my front door and walking out without any notification, without any security,” the 52-year-old told the publication.
After Barack’s official retirement from his eight-year presidency, the Obamas will be moving into a spectacular Washington property that sits on 8,200 square-feet.
The eight bedroom and nine-and-a half bedroom manor was sold in May 2014 for $USD5 million, and will house the entire family up until 2017 when daughter Malia will head to Harvard.
