Australian rocker Jon English has died at age 66.

The singer-songwriter passed away overnight due to complications from surgery and was surrounded by his family, News.com.au reports.
English shot to fame in the early 1970s in his role as Judas in the Australian version of Jesus Christ Superstar.
It was his hilarious performance as The Pirate King in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance that many remember him for.
