Cate Blanchett, who attended the ball wearing a printed ivory silk top and skirt ensemble, presented Geoffrey Rush with the 2014 Excellence in the Arts award.
Cate offered a touching tribute to her fellow thespian by reciting a seemingly neverending list of the Queenslad-born actor’s achievements. Rush then returned the niceties by describing the Oscar-winning actress as a “truly a beautiful friend and great colleague and bodacious actress”.
Naomi Watts, Joel Edgerton, Jackie Weaver were also among the Aussie A-listers in attendance. Who gets your vote for best-dressed?
