From action-packed blockbusters to rom-coms and old classics, here are our top picks for August.

Pretty Woman – This ’90s classic has everything you need in a movie: love, laughs and Richard Gere.

Brooklyn – Best Picture-nominated Brooklyn tells the heart-wrenching tale of an Irish immigrant caught between two loves and two countries.

The Way We Were – This 1973 romantic drama revolves around two lovers, played by Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand, pulled apart by their convictions.

Sicario – This powerful film, lead by Emily Blunt, revolves around an FBI agent tasked with taking down a brutal Mexican drug cartel.

The Lobster – This kitschy film is set in a far-off dystopian future where single people are sent to a facility and forced to find love in forty-five days lest they be turned into beasts and sent off into the wild.

The Little Prince – This sweet re-telling of a classic children’s book features the voice acting of Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard and James Franco.

Creed – Lead by Michael B Jordan, Creed is a dramatic sequel to the much-loved Rocky movies, where Sylvester Stallone’s character, Rocky, trains the son of his greatest rival.

Wolf Hall – Set in King Henry VIII’s English court, Wolf Hall explores the treachery, intrigue and romance of this cut-throat time.

Argo – Ben Affleck’s award-winning film, Argo, which he directed and starred in revolves around a dangerous rescue operation in 1980 Iran.

The Intern – Feel-good movie, The Intern, takes a look at growing older and getting wiser.
