Arnold's vow to make his son a star

As his former maid tells all about their love child, he has plans of his own.

He was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s dirty little secret for years, but now the action hero and former politician is making up for lost time, promising to turn his love child with his maid into a star. Arnie, 63, has told friends he wants illegitimate son Joseph, 13, to follow in his footsteps and use his new notoriety to become a star. This comes after the teenage boy’s mum, Arnie’s former housekeeper Mildred Baena, 50, broke her silence last week.

“Arnie has promised Mildred and Joseph he will do everything to turn Joseph’s newfound fame into a good thing,” one of Arnie’s friends tells Woman’s Day. “He wants to show he can do more for Joseph than just support him financially. Arnie wants him to see the full benefit that comes from being part of the Schwarzenegger family. He has told his agents at powerhouse Hollywood firm CAA to find a film role or juicy TV series for Joseph.”

The efforts of the big-screen superstar have been welcomed by Mildred, who is said to be “excited” about the opportunities her son’s dad is now offering. No doubt that goes double for Joseph, who responded with “Cool” when his grandmother revealed the identity of his real father 12 months ago.

However, this development has left Arnie’s estranged wife and the mother of his other four children, Maria Shriver, 55, less than impressed. “She never wanted any of the kids involved in showbiz in any way and argued with Arnie about it on numerous occasions,” one friend tells Woman’s Day. “But now it’s like he sees Joseph as a chance to get what he wants, and to do things his way. The last thing Maria wants is more attention and spotlight on Joseph and Mildred!”
