Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided to go back to his entertainment roots, signing on to host the new version of Celebrity Apprentice, the reality show Donald Trump made an international success.
However, Trump isn’t quite ready to let go of his television career just yet, he’ll still be executive producer of the show despite also running the United States of America as their newly elected President. The reason? Money of course, with Trump set to rake in a per-episode fee which is “likely to be in the low five figures, at minimum,” reports Variety
When asked about the controversial decision, Schwarzenegger was quick to defend his boss, who he ironically did not vote for, liking it to his own retention of movie credits when he put his acting career on hold.
“It’s no different than when I was running for governor and I became governor. My credit starring in Terminator still said Schwarzenegger and everything stayed the same and I continued getting royalties and all that stuff.”
Schwarzenegger isn’t sure how much active involvement Trump will have with the show, but was keen to have him do a guest spot, though isn’t holding his breath.
“I don’t think that he is going to be co-hosting with me, even though maybe it’d be fun to have him as a guest adviser or something like this if he has the time,” he said during a press conference. “I don’t know if he has time or not.”
Trump’s former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has since revealed the Republican plans to work on the show in his “free time”.
