It was supposed to be Anna Heinrich’s shining moment – her first coveted MCing gig for the Melbourne Cup – but instead of celebrating with her husband Tim Robards, the Bachelor stars spent the day bitterly arguing before flirting with other people and sleeping in separate rooms!
Rumours of trouble in the reality TV stars’ marriage were reignited when Tim turned up to the races without his wedding ring, before shockingly admitting that the couple – who live apart during the week while Tim films Neighbours in Melbourne and Anna stays in Sydney for her job as a criminal lawyer – chose to stay separately during the races with Anna checking into a hotel and Tim staying in his apartment.
Flying Solo
“I’m not in a hotel [with Anna] because Monday to Friday I live down here, but she is only here for a couple of days,” revealed Tim at the time.
The surprise admission came as the couple arrived separately to the track with Tim leaving Anna behind as he came in a helicopter, while she made her own way to the grounds.
A track insider tells Woman’s Day the pair barely saw each other during the day with Tim, 37, choosing to party in the exclusive Birdcage rather than visit 32-year-old Anna who was working in the Myer tent.
The source adds Tim was nowhere to be seen while Anna was carrying out her MCing duties for Fashions on the Field.

Anna and Tim were barely seen together at the Melbourne Cup.

While Anna nervously took to the mic in front of thousands of people, Tim was seen boozing with Neighbours co-star Benny Turland, betting on numerous races and flirting with mystery women – including a gorgeous DJ who he gave his undivided attention to during the race that stops the nation, despite having a wager on it.
‘ABANDONED’ ANNA
Later in the day, Anna and Tim were spotted together – but it was far from a reconciliation.
An onlooker tells Woman’s Day they appeared “mechanical” and “forced”, adding they were hamming it up for the cameras instead of relishing in each other’s company.
“At one point one of Anna’s friends pushed Tim towards Anna… it was like a friend was forcing them together – it was bizarre,” says the racegoer.

“There’s trouble there,” he said on air.
“I think Tim has abandoned her with the move down to Melbourne for Neighbours. She’s still living in Sydney, and that worries me. Something’s going on.”
