They were once the best of friends – but these days Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts barely talk.
The Aussie actresses are still civil when they meet at industry events, even posing for the odd photograph together. But friends claim behind the scenes a bitter rivalry has driven them apart.
Insiders tell us that the pair are “trying to remain cordial” for the sake of their careers.
Last week, Naomi confirmed the pair rarely speak. “We’re busy people living in different places,” she told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit.
And although she claimed they still love a catch-up, she admitted she and Nic now have “big gaps” between visits. Meanwhile, friends say the situation is far worse.
“It’s a shame it’s come to this,” an insider tells Woman’s Day. “The bond between them has seemingly gone forever.”
