Just weeks after filming on the Australian set of Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean was put on hold when he hurt his hand during a “wild weekend bender”, it’s believed his fledgling marriage to Hollywood actress Amber Heard is falling apart.
The 51-year-old married Amber, 28, in a private civil ceremony just two months ago, but as he reportedly grapples with his addiction back home in Los Angeles home,it has been reported that Amber is preparing to leave him.
A source close to the couple tells In Touch that Johnny’s love of drinking and broken promises have strained their marriage to the point that they’re “barely talking.”
“Amber is constantly worried about him. He’ll go days without calling or texting her.”
On top of their marriage problems, the high-profile actors, who had a rocky 13-month engagement, both have incredibly hectic work schedules.
Marriage has never been a high priority for Johnny who was previously in a 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, who is the mother of his children Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 13.
In 2010 the actor explained to Extra what he thought of marriage.
“I never found myself needing that piece of paper,” he shared. “Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married.”
Despite Johnny’s previous views on marriage, Amber was the girl who changed his mind.
“She’s a wonderful girl…She’s sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.” The actor told TODAY USA.
Here’s hoping the newlyweds can sort their differences out!
