Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Hathaway revealed that Streep, who played Miranda Priestly, a fictional version of the straight-talking Vogue editor Anna Wintour, was just as cold as her on-screen character.
โWhen I met her she gave me a huge hug,โ Hathaway said, โand Iโm like, โOh my god, we are going to have the best time on this movie,โ and then sheโs like, โAh sweetie, thatโs the last time Iโm nice to you.โ
โShe then went into her trailer and came out the ice queen and that was really the last I saw of โMerylโ for months, until we promoted the film,โ Hathaway said.
Streep is a known adherent to the school of method acting, in which the actor inhabits a role and follows in the characterโs footprints.
