They say time heals all wounds and now nearly a year after she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt is seems like Angelina Jolie may have had a change of heart.
In an honest new interview with news.com.au, the mother-of-six has revealed: “I don’t enjoy being single. It’s not something I wanted.”
The publication reports the 42-year-old’s “eyes fill with tears” as she adds of her new dynamic, “There are no upsides, there’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard.”
Making sure she wasn’t stepping out solo when she attended the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado over the weekend as she promoted her new film First They Killed My Father, the director brought along her six beautiful children Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11 and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
“They have been amazing [during the divorce]. They have been there for each other [to the extent that] I have never seen. It’s been so moving to see how much they have helped each other, stood together, the big brothers helping the little kids and all of them helping me,” Angelina explained to news.com.au.
“They have really come into their own during this time. They are finding themselves and their voices.”
Angie’s latest comments come amid a groundbreaking new report from The Mail On Sunday which claims the once-feuding exes have sought couples’ therapy to work through their issues.
According to Brangie author Ian Halperin, the pair came face-to-face for the first time seven weeks ago for an intense session of soul-searching in a discreet Beverly Hills house.
“Brad took the first step forward. Then they collapsed into each other’s arms,” Ian claims.
‘There were a lot of tears. Nothing was left on the table. They had it out, right there and then in this very modest house. In that moment they decided to make a fresh start. It was a ‘come to Jesus meeting’ that marked the beginning of a new phase in their relationship,” he adds.
After their therapy, which was overlooked by a “referee”, they reportedly decided that they still love each other very much and wanted to give things another go.
“Angelina sees them as very much the new Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. They can’t live together but they can’t live apart. She has worked hard on herself since the plane incident, and so has Brad. They are still in love with each other,” the report explains.
Hollywood heavyweights Burton and Taylor famously married each other twice in the ’60s and ’70s, before calling it quits for good in 1976.
Brangie have even joked they’re “consciously re-coupling”, throwing subtle shade to Gwyneth Paltrow’ and Chris Martin’s infamous “‘consciously uncoupling” statement when they announced their divorce in 2014.
In fact Angelina, who shares six children with Brad, believes everything went south after she married the 53-year-old in France three years ago.
“Their relationship shifted, it became boring. Brad’s drinking escalated. They both had heavy work schedules and they were constantly travelling around as a family. Tensions grew,” Ian claims.
The author, who has penned Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tome on the pair, speculates that the divorce could still go ahead but it would only be a “piece of paper” in their eyes but a fresh chapter would still very much be on the cards.
But before we bust out our celebratory Miraval rose, Gossip Cop has slammed the Mail on Sunday‘s report as rubbish.
“They aren’t reconsidering anything,” a well-placed insider tells the website.
‘Scuse us while we recover from some very serious whiplash.
While we’d love to see a Brangie reunion, in this case, only time will tell.
