It’s understood that Angelina Jolie and her eldest son, Maddox, have been treated to a private tour of Buckingham Palace.

Royal sources confirmed that the 41-year-old star and her 15-year-old son had been granted a “last-minute” tour of the iconic building, Hello!magazine reports.

The duo were snapped by paparazzi as they exited their London hotel and made their way to a waiting car to take them to the palace.

According to multiple sources out of the UK, no members of the royal family were present during the mother-son tour.

The visit is considered as highly unusual as the palace’s state rooms are only open to the public from the end of July to August, whilst the Queen and relatives holiday at the family’s Balmoral Estate in Scotland.

Angelina and Maddox were pictured leaving their swanky hotel as they made tracks toward the palace.

The Hollywood A-lister last visited Buckingham Palace in 2014 when she was made an honorary Dame by the Queen.

The visit followed the Academy Award-winning actresses first lecture as a visiting professor at the London School of Economics, at the Centre for Women, Peace and Security.

As a visiting professor, the multi-hyphenate talent delivered a lecture to pupils studying the same-titled postgraduate course: Women, Peace and Security.

Speaking with the Evening Standard ahead of the lecture, Angelina admitted that she was a “little nervous, feeling butterflies.”

“I hope I do well. This is very important to me,” she added.

Camilla Yahaya, a student at the school, spoke with E! News about the star’s visit.

“It was really amazing to have her on campus. Her arrival had been anticipated but we started to think because of her personal situation she might have backed out of the role. There was a real buzz on campus—everyone was looking for her.”

“One of my friends was in her lecture…she seemed shy yet enthusiastic. She is teaching a really small course. There are about five classes and one lecture in a week,” the student added.

Since filing to end her marriage of twelve years late last year, and the nasty custody battle which ensued, Angelia has kept a relatively low profile. However, this latest venture seems to mark her return to public life.

Angelina reportedly filed for divorce following a fight between Brad and their eldest child Maddox, while the family was aboard a private jet. Several reports have indicated that Brad was “verbally abusive” and became “physical” with the 15-year-old as the altercation slowly spiralled out of control.

Despite the tumultuous circumstances, the By The Sea actress remains adamant that Brad is “a wonderful father.”

“Of course, of course,” she responded when quizzed as to whether she still thought Brad was a good parent. “We will always be a family. Always.”
