It was the night Hollywood came to town. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, that is.
The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actress and her new husband arrived in Sydney for the world premiere of Angelina’s new film, Unbroken, which details the remarkable life story of American Olympian and World War II hero, the late Louis Zamperini.
Looking every inch an A-lister, Angelina wore a gorgeous Gucci gown for the event as she mingled among fans and media outside the State Theatre. The mother of six and humanitarian didn’t shy away from signing autographs or taking selfies with the enthusiastic crowd that was about 2000 strong.
Inside, some of Australia’s most inspirational men and women had the chance to meet the Hollywood couple. Among those was The Weekly‘s July cover girl and burns survivor Turia Pitt and her partner Michael Hoskin.
After posing for a picture with the stars, the inspiring Turia told her fans it was a “privilege to meet this extraordinary couple.”
Krystal Barter, the founder of charity, Pink Hope, who is often dubbed ‘Australia’s Angelina Jolie’ for sharing the same BRCA gene as the celebrity, also met the woman that helped give her charity a boost. The two shared a private moment and a hug.
“It was amazing,” Krystal told The Weekly. “She is exactly how you would expect her to be – very humble.”
“She has done a lot for the cause.”
Unbroken opens in Australian cinemas on January 15.
