On Monday the transgender model, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina but raised in Melbourne, appeared on the catwalk for the first time since her sexual reassignment surgery last year.

Donning a black satin cape with a bow neck and high ruffled collar the 23-year-old strutted her stuff for British fashion house Giles at London Fashion Week.

The surgery marked a new beginning for the six-foot-one stunner who told People not long after the procedure that she was “more comfortable than ever”.

“Every day is like a new revelation …I feel at a 100 per cent.”

And Pejic’s star is even further on the rise with director Sophia Coppola casting her in the live-action remake of the Disney classic, The Little Mermaid. Pejic is due to play “sister #4”.

But before she makes the leap to silver screen fame here is a look at some of Pejic’s career highlights.
