Over the past few years, the former child star publically battled mental illness, while facing a series of legal issues.
From rude tweets, inappropriate and offensive behaviour, losing her license – The Amanda Show star’s erratic behaviour had fans and loved ones very concerned.
The final straw was in 2014 when she was infamously and briefly placed under a psychiatric hold after setting a fire in the front yard of a neighbour’s house in her parents, Rick and Lynn’s neighbourhood.
The actress, who has publicly discussed her struggle with bipolar disorder, has since shared snapshots into her life where she is looking happy and healthy.
And it would appear; now at 30, Amanda is back on track.
“I am doing my best to get better,” the now 30-year-old previously told Us Weekly in a statement via attorney David Esquibias back in November 2014.
“I am sorry for any pain I caused my family and others … I am thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding.”
David added on his client’s behalf, “She appreciates all of the love and support she receives from family, friends and fans.”
The Nickelodeon starlet has since enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and has just completed the winter quarter of her second year at the Los Angeles campus.
“She seems to still be doing great and seems really focused on school,” a source revealed to ET.
And her family couldn’t be happier for Amanda’s turn around.
“We are all so proud of her, and can’t wait to see her amazing designs on the runway someday,” Tamar quipped.
Happy birthday Amanda, here’s to your next chapter.
