They were dubbed ‘The Clooneys’ following their extravagant Italian wedding, but it appears traditional Amal has adopted her new husband’s surname professionally as well.
The 36-year-old human rights lawyer is now known as Amal Clooney on the website of her law firm, Doughty Street Chamber.
It’s a little surprising to some that Amal has adopted her new surname, yet it seems most women choose to change their name once they wed.
A 2013 survey by Bride to Be magazine found that around 82 per cent of married Australian women still take on their husband’s surname, while only 11 per cent keep their family name.
Five per cent said they would hyphenate, while the remaining two per cent said they were undecided.
“My verdict on being Mr and Mrs Clooney? It feels pretty damn great,” George told HELLO!
