Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou can’t wait to spend Christmas with her son four-year-old son Jonas!
Woman’s Day chatted to the actress to talk about her exciting plans for the festive season.
What do you love most about the festive season?
It’s always nice to spend time with the family and coming from a European background there’s a lot of us. Christmas is always loud, crazy, fun and full of food – the best memories are made at Christmas time!
How will you be spending Christmas this year?
Christmas always brings everyone together so I’ll be spending the day with family.
What has Jonas asked for this year?
He loves the Cars movies so a lot of different toy cars are on the list as well as a matchbox racing track, anything to do with animals, a microphone and superhero toys.
What is a typical Christmas morning like for you?
We usually do a big family lunch so the morning is quite relaxed. Jonas loves opening his presents from Santa nice and early, it’s the first thing he does every year. The excitement on his face is priceless!
Where do you usually go for Christmas lunch and what’s your favourite food to eat on the day?
The entire family goes to one person’s house, we try to take turns on who hosts everyone although the last two years have been at my house. We’re big on seafood and always do a big Greek style barbeques and also have lots and lots of desserts, especially chocolate!
Speaking of yummy food, what made you want to get involved with Cadbury Joy Deliveries?
I’ve always been a fan of Cadbury chocolate so was excited to part-take in their Christmas get-together at Cronulla [in Sydney]. Cadbury also joined forces with Clown Doctor’s, who help put smiles on the faces of unwell children all over Australia. Being a mum myself, I definitely wanted to get involved!
What’s one of your most treasured Christmas memories?
One of the most memorable would be the year just mum, Costa and I spent Christmas in Queensland.
It was just the three of us and we spent the whole day on the beach. Even though we were quite young, it’s still one of my favourite Christmas memories.
And what about your favourite Christmas movie of all time?
Love Actually, it’s a classic!
What was the highlight of 2016?
We had an amazing holiday, spending four weeks away in Cyprus, Greece, with the whole family and Jonas. I love going to Greece, so this was easily one of the best memories from this year!
Will you be going away over the Christmas break?
No holidays planned this Christmas, I want to keep it quite relaxed, spending time with Jonas, family and friends.
Any New Year’s resolutions?
I am not one for New Year’s resolutions. I prefer to set myself goals throughout the year and work really hard towards achieving them. Its a great way to stay motivated and driven throughout the whole year.
