Veteran actor Alan Thicke has reportedly died, aged 69.
TMZ is reporting that Thicke was taken to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center around midday on Tuesday but was pronounced dead there. It is believed he had a heart attack.
The Canadian-born actor had been in showbiz for decades and while he was most famously known for playing Jason Seaver, the TV dad on 80 sitcom Growing Pains, he also hosted game shows, talk shows, and wrote several famous TV theme songs for shows like Diff’rent Strokes, Wheel of Fortune, as well as Growing Pains.
More recently Alan had been starring the the Fuller House revival on Netflix. Just hours before his death the actor had tweeted he was looking forward to the show’s second season.
Tributes have begun to pour in with Ellen DeGeneres tweeting: “America loved Alan Thicke. I’m so sad he’s gone. Sending so much love to his family.”
Alan is survived by his sons Brennan, Carter and Blurred Lines singer Robin, as well as his wife, Tanya.
