Overnight, Hollywood has gathered to celebrate the best talent on TV and film at the MTV Movie and TV Awards at the Shrine Auditorium.
Homegrown hero Hugh Jackman and his Logan co-star Dafne Keen scooped up the Best Duo award while the Fast and Furious franchise used their time in the spotlight accepting the Generation Award to thank a very special cast member.
But it was Emma Watson’s somewhat lengthy speech for a newly-created accolade that divided fans…

Vin Diesel pays tribute to Paul Walker
The Fast and Furious star had the audience wiping the tears away as he accepted the Generation Award for the rev-head franchise, using the moment to honour their late co-star Paul Walker, who passed away in a car crash in 2013.
“In 2002, I was standing on this stage, and MTV had given Paul Walker and I an award for Best Duo. And now, 15 years later, I’m with my whole family, and you’re giving us the Generation Award,” Vin told the crowd.
Before adding of his treasured friend Paul, who affectionately called Pablo: “I could never stand on the stage and talk about Fast and Furious without giving love to my brother, Pablo, our brother Pablo, we hope you are proud, thank you so much.”

Paul tragically died in 2013 in a car crash.

At just 13, you can hardly blame Stranger Things favourite Millie Bobby Brown for being taken aback by her mind-blowing success.
And when the British actress landed the Best Actor in a Show at the MTV Movie Awards, the magnitude of the moment blew away the talented wunderkid.
The Stranger Things star was stoked with her win.
“I want to thank my family and my mum and dad for being so supportive,” Millie explained through tears and a lot of gratitude.
“Lastly I want to thank to Duffer Brothers because they’ve created a bad-arse, female, iconic character that I’ve got the honour to play,” she added of her role as Eleven.

Accio winner! Emma Watson still gets slammed after making history
Our favourite witch and real-life hero Emma Watson is continuing her plight for equality.
The 27-year-old picked up the popcorn bucket for the combined-gender Best Actor category for her role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, aka the first ever gender-neutral accolade.
“The first acting award in history that doesn’t separate nominees based on their sex says something about how we perceive the human experience,” she said in her speech.
Hermione Granger just continues to cast her spell on us.
Adding, “To me, it indicates that acting is about the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. And that doesn’t need to be separated into two different categories.”
Her speech, which you can read in full here, had some viewers expressing unworthy shade, claiming it went for too long.
“Emma Watson is giving this profound speech. Girl it’s the #MTVAwards .. Not the Oscars. Sit down already,” one person tweeted.
But not everyone was as harsh.
“Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Emma Watson’s speech at the mtv movie awards? #MTVMovieAwards2017 #EmmaWatson,” another person noted.

Taking us back to the ’70s, Milo stayed in character, telling the crowd, “You know, Princess, these MTV awards, they were a little different in my day.”

The 48-year-old and his pint-sized co-star channelled their inner Wolverine as they accepted their popcorn statue.
“This is a character I love. I owe my career to this character,” the 48-year-old beamed.
