Let’s be real, you’ve been waiting for this Carpool Karaoke since what feels like the dawn of time. Sure, Adele was cool. Ed Sheeran was funny. Bruno Mars even had you dancing in your seat. But no guest star has made you get jiggy wit’ it quite like the OG Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Mr Will Smith.
James Corden, host of The Late Late Show, teamed up with the Men In Black star for the first episode of Corden’s new spin-off show Carpool Karoke: The Series, which will be aired on Apple Music.
The first six minutes of the ep was uploaded to YouTube to get us psyched for the new series and boy, does it do that. This karaoke session is not like you’ve ever seen before – it’s pulling out all the stops. There’s even a marching band to really cement that ‘surround sound’ feeling.
^^Impressive.
In those glorious six minutes, the actor and talk-show host cover Will’s 90s hit ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’ (we know you’re singing that tune in your head right now) and ‘Boom! Shake The Room’, plus they chat about his rise to fame.
The clip also teases fans with what we can expect from the full episode: Corden and Smith singing ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ from a helicopter, and the Men In Black star gate-crashing a wedding.
